21 Knocks

Package Design

Reminiscent of the 1920s, 21 Knocks is a bottled cocktail company that brings popular classic drinks to your home. Embracing the era of the Prohibition, a time when most of these cocktails rose to fame, each drink has a unique persona embodying its distinctive drinker. The goal of this project was to create a cohesive packaging system that could be carried out over various bottle sizes and a gift set.

Each illustration is done in a 1920s or 1930s style to capture the time more truthfully. The angled label of the packaging encourages the customer to continue to rotate the bottle to get all the information; a concept inspired by the length people had to go through to drink during prohibition. The personality of each cocktail is meant to convey the fun of drinking while making each mixture identifiable on the shelves. The ornamentals and type choices help to further capture the era. Twenty-One Knocks aims to embraces the history of each cocktail and represent a period that made them into what they are today.
